Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers Gives Jordan Love a Shoutout on New Contract

With Jordan Love signing a massive extension with the Green Bay Packers, he recently received a shoutout from the man he replaced in Aaron Rodgers. Prior to the starter of the 2023 season, the Packers made the decision to go with youth over experience, as they traded Rodgers to the New York Jets.

Moving on from Rodgers allowed the Packers to see what their former first-round pick Jordan Love could accomplish in the NFL. In his first season as a starting quarterback, Love went on to total over 4,000 passing yards and more than 30 touchdown passes.

The move to trade Rodgers and start Love so far looks like it was the right choice for Green Bay. Unfortunately for Rodgers, he barely played in 2024 after tearing his Achilles a few plays into the season.

After seeing his former backup and teammate get a massive contract extension, Rodgers gave him a shoutout while talking to the NFL Network.

Rodgers certainly has a sense of humor as he tried to play real estate agent on his house by jokingly offering it to Love. However, all jokes aside, Rodgers seemed happy for his former teammate.

Now, Love will have the pressure of trying to accomplish what Rodgers did in Green Bay. That will be no easy task, as Rodgers has won multiple MVP awards and won a Super Bowl with the Packers.

Currently, the Green Bay Packers look like their roster is set up nicely to be able to compete for years to come, as the front office has done a nice job in the draft stockpiling young players.

For the Packers, they have had the fortune it appears of finding another franchise quarterback. Going from Brett Favre to Rodgers to now Love is something we don’t see many franchises be able to do, and especially as easily as the Packers have.

With the Jets and the Green Bay Packers both projected to be good teams, we could potentially see the two face off in the Super Bowl this season.
