Jordan Love's Fantasy Value As Highest Paid Player In History

In Love's first season in taking over as the Packers starting QB, he had many Packer fans regretting their previous disapproval that they had when Love was drafted in the first round. He began his 2023 season with some inconsistency that made many fantasy owners worry that their long-term hold or recent trade acquisition would turn out poorly; however, halfway through the season, Love formed into the quarterback that both dynasty owners and the Packers wished for.

Even with his shaky start in his first season as a starting quarterback, Love finished as the QB 5. He threw for 4,159 yards (7th highest), 32 passing TDs (2nd highest), and only 11 interceptions. He does not offer much of a major rushing upside, only producing 247 rushing yards on 50 carries while adding in 4 rushing TDs. These are already impressive numbers for his first season as a starter, and this was with his young WRs and TEs in Jayden Reed, Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, Tucker Kraft, and Luke Musgrave.

As they continue to improve their NFL skill sets and Watson hopefully can stay healthy, it would be no surprise to see Love's numbers grow even further. The Packers also signed running back Josh Jacobs, who will also add some help in the receiving game and a nice change of pace in the running game to open up more opportunities for Love.

He is currently in his last year under contract with the Packers, but a long-term extension is almost imminent after the quarterback's end of the season and playoff performance that he had. Love may not always produce the most flashy numbers, but his solid floor will provide fantasy numbers that will usually not disappoint owners. That said, Love should be drafted within the first 12 quarterbacks taken in redraft and dynasty startups.

Our consensus projections for Love in the 2024 season would be: 383 completions, 4531 yards, 30 touchdowns, 11 interceptions through the air, and 44 carries for 239 yards and 4 rushing touchdowns.
