Packers young receiver wows with 'spectacular catch' in training camp

The Green Bay Packers have all the makings of an explosive offense.

Jordan Love is one of the most gifted young passers in the National Football League, and Green Bay has surrounded Love with an athletic and skilled receiving corps.

Beyond the handful of stud wideouts lining up for Green Bay, Love will also benefit from having tight end Luke Musgrave to throw to. The 23-year-old Musgrave poised for a breakout year.

The Packers have a good problem on their hands with too many receiving options on offense. There is only one football to go around, and while Love will do his best to distribute passes across all areas of the field, certain members of Green Bay's receiving corps oozing with talent will likely get fewer touches than they desire (and deserve).

A recent, standout moment at Packers training camp from second-year wideout Dontayvion Wicks highlighted the ridiculous ability of the Packers receivers, plus the subtle competition they will be in with each other for Love's attention, as reported by Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer.

"Dontayvion Wicks made a spectacular catch in a two-minute drill on a ball that Jordan Love fit between Eric Stokes and a safety," Breer said on Monday. "It was a great reminder of how heated the competition for snaps and the ball will be among Green Bay’s young receivers, with Christian Watson, Jayden Reed and camp standout Romeo Doubs in that mix."

Wicks was drafted at No. 159 overall out of Virginia by the Packers in the 2023 NFL draft. In his rookie year, he had 39 receptions for 581 yards and 4 touchdowns.
