A Petersburgh man was arrested for bringing out a machete during an argument between two football teams at a park in Lake County. A deputy responded to a call involving a disturbance with a machete at North Lake Regional Park, located at 40730 Roger Giles Road in Umatilla, around 7:20 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Since 1985, Farm Aid founders Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp (later joined by Dave Mathews and Margo Price) have stepped up to help the American Farmer. The charity has grown through the years to do more than just host an annual benefit concert. 50 Amsterdam veterans honored at the Spa
It was a special day at the Saratoga Race Course. America's Pastime Stables, with the help of sponsors and assembleyman Angelo Santabarbara, organized a free trip for 50 veterans, busing them with a police escort from Amsterdam to the Spa.
A Free Day at the Track for Local Veterans
The American Pastime Stables and 111 District Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara organized a day for veterans to enjoy a day at the track with free food and a reserved section. It all started this morning when they were given breakfast and packed on a bus from Amsterdam to the Saratoga Raceway.

By Joseph Aiello “From the Spa” returns to keep you up-to-date on horses bred in the mid-Atlantic racing in Saratoga stakes. Entering the third Thursday of the 2024 Saratoga meet, Midlantic breds have only competed in two stakes races, with Studlydoright closing into second in the Grade III Sanford two weeks ago. Now, as has become a staple for Midlantic runners in recent years, the Grade III Caress Stakes will feature three of our highlighted entries as the ninth race on Thursday’s card. Returning from last year’s triumph as the outside breaking ten is Roses for Debra, the 8/5 morning line favorite bred in Pennsylvania. While she will receive much of the attention, a pair of improving four year old fillies enter with plenty of upside, both coming off back to back wins. In what appears to be a very evenly matched group going five and a half on the turf, it is anyones race here, as the successful Roses for Debra will have to be on her A-game to repeat this time around.
