GREEN, Ohio (WJW) – The Summit County Sheriff’s Office released information Monday on a traffic stop and pursuit that took place in Green.

On Saturday, June 29, a deputy initiated a traffic stop around 2 p.m. on I-77.

According to a press release, the driver, Thomas Baker, was known to have an active felony warrant out of Summit County.

The vehicle exited I-77 at South Arlington Road, but deputies said Baker didn’t stop.

As the deputy pulled into a parking lot behind the driver, Baker drove directly toward the deputy’s cruiser, according to a press release, and then fled the scene.

Multiple units responded and attempted to pull Baker over in Springfield Township.

Eventually, deputies said Baker drove to his residence on Bridger Road.

But once there, Baker got out of the vehicle and started to run, according to a press release.

Baker was caught a short time later with multiple deputies, officers, and K-9s in pursuit.

Baker, 45, faces charges of failure to comply with a police order, obstructing official business and a probation violation.

He was booked into the Summit County Jail.
