Pettis County man sentenced to 20 years in prison for molesting two children
A Pettis County man is headed to prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing two minor children. Marlon Lange, of Green Ridge, pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of third-degree child molestation. He was sentenced to 10 years on both counts but will serve them back-to-back for a total of 20 years.

Earlier this afternoon, the Benton County Sheriff's Office issued a short press release stating that law enforcement was looking for an individual who attempted to steal a truck from 34154 Highway 65. Thanks to the release being posted on the Facebook page of the Benton County MO Sheriff's Office, the person was apprehended.
Benton County Sheriff Arrests Burglary Suspect
On July 16, 2024 at 1:16 PM, Benton County Central Dispatch was notified of a disturbance at 34154 Highway 65, a rural Warsaw address. The owner of the property and his employee were returning after work to find a stranger trying to drive away in the employee’s truck. Luckily, there was a pipe fence obstructing the get away path and their incoming vehicle was blocking the driveway. The suspect, later identified as Lance Joseph Parker, 33 of Marble Falls, Arkansas abandoned the stolen truck and fled into the foliage beyond the residence. The property owner discovered Parker’s Dodge truck concealed inside his garage.

Two Olathe, Kansas, residents land in the Benton County Jail after a routine traffic stop uncovers a large quantity of illegal drugs. Johnson County Warrant Issued for Windsor Man With History of Fraudulent Activity
JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo - A warrant has been issued in Johnson County for a Windsor man with a history of fraud. According to a probable cause statement, 41-year-old Timothy Lee Mundy Jr. entered into an agreement with a rural Johnson County man to construct a deck at his home in September 2023 at a cost of $3,750. Mundy posed under the name of Giovanni Ybarra for the job and didn't complete the work. An inspector alleged the work was substandard and would need to be rebuilt.
Warsaw Man Injured in Benton County Accident
BENTON COUNTY, Mo - A Warsaw man was injured in a Benton County accident this afternoon. The accident occurred at 2:15 on northbound Cold Springs south of Highway 7. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol a car driven by 84-year-old Edward Schepker of Warsaw traveled off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and traveled off the left side of the road. Schepker's car then hit an embankment and overturned, coming to rest on its top.
