Swig brings its 'dirty sodas' to Tennessee for the first time. Here's where it is open
Appearing like an oasis in the desert, the refreshment franchise Swig has opened its first location in Tennessee. Swig, which opened in Alcoa on June 21, is a soda fountain drive-through chain known for its "dirty sodas." "Dirty sodas" are traditional sodas blended like nonalcoholic cocktails with fruits, creams or flavorings. Swig has menu items like its most popular drinks Hula Girl and the Texas Tab, or custom-made creations.

Farragut Parks & Rec adds adult programs
The Farragut Parks & Recreation Department is adding new programs to a growing catalog of activities geared toward adults: Book Club, Walking Club and pickup sports. The new Book Club will begin meeting on Wednesdays in July, and while registration for this group is closed, look for the next opportunity to join a new group when it opens again. Book Club.
Two local parades on July 4
Love a parade? There are two neighborhood ones on July 4th in Farragut or Powell. The Farragut Independence Day parade is an annual event from 9:30 a.m.- noon, beginning at intersection of Kingston Pike and Stadium Drive then traveling to Boring Road. Make sure to arrive early to snag the best seats to view the floats, bands, dancers, animals, antique cars and more. Plus, the first 100 visitors to the Visit Farragut Tent at the Campbell Station Inn will receive a special event pin.
