Arkansas nursing home evacuated, businesses flood after flash flood emergency
YELLVILLE, Ark. — On Wednesday, the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management reported more than 100 people are in limbo after having to evacuate due to flash floods. Eighty of those people were in a Yellville nursing home with what the fire department described as more than a few feet of water.

Fayetteville City Council unanimously approves Sunday alcohol sales to be on November ballot
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — It's official: Registered voters in Fayetteville will decide in November whether to allow the sale of alcohol on Sundays in the city. According to Fayetteville City Attorney Kit Williams, a total of 4,276 signatures were verified from a petition led by the organization Keep Our Dollars in Fayetteville. That number of signatures reached the threshold needed to be filed to successfully call for the election.

Jeff Moore from Batesville caught this 25-inch brown trout and released it after the photo was taken to fight another day. He caught it earlier this week, just upriver of Jenkins Fishing Service dock in Calico Rock. The water was in perfect shape at this time, but by midweek, flooding in north Arkansas had caused the river at Calico Rock to rise to 18 feet. In other spots, overflowing water wrecked some trout docks and caused significant damage.
