Tarrytown’s Jonathan Oakes Wins State Junior Championship
Tarrytown’s Jonathan Oakes has done it again. Last year, Tom ewrote in The Hudson Independent that Oakes, was “on a course for greatness” after he won a major sectional tournament in Mamaroneck and qualified for the Boys Junior PGA championship at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club in Palos Park, Ill.
Greenwich Point One-Mile Swim Set for July 13
The 35th Annual One Mile Swim at Tod’s Point will be held on Saturday, July 13. The event is sponsored by The Greenwich Swim Committee and the YMCA of Greenwich. All proceeds from the One Mile Swim event will go toward supporting the YMCA of Greenwich’s Swim School Scholarship Fund, helping to provide swim school instruction and critical water safety skills to local children. Last year, the event raised $2,500 after all race expenses for the YMCA of Greenwich.
