    Body found in Nolichucky River identified as missing Greeneville man

    GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — A missing Greeneville man’s body was recovered from the Nolichucky River on Sunday, according to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.

    According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department (GCSD), a body was found off Bright Hope Road in the Nolichucky River Sunday shortly after 4 p.m.

    The body was sent to the William L. Jenkins Foresenic Center at ETSU for identification and cause of death, the sheriff’s department reported.

    On Monday afternoon, the GCSD announced the person was identified as Brian Key, 36, of Greeneville.

    Key had been reported missing on Saturday by family members, the sheriff’s department stated.

    Police investigating 11 car burglaries at Dollywood

    According to the GCSD, Key’s vehicle was found near the river off River Bend Road in the southern part of Greene County. Authorities searched for Key on Saturday but were unable to locate him.

    The GCSD’s Criminal Investigation Division and the Greeneville Emergency & Rescue Squad responded to the scene on Sunday.
