    Greensboro man charged with murder; accused of fatally stabbing roommate

    GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A man is facing a murder charge after being accused of fatally stabbing his roommate in Greensboro, according to the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office.

    At around 9:33 a.m. on Monday, deputies came to the 5500 block of Forest Road in Greensboro after getting a report of a dead body.

    At the scene, deputies found Chancy Beck, 47, of Greensboro, dead from stab wounds.

    Investigators say they arrested Zachary Small, 28, of Greensboro, without incident and charged him with first-degree murder.

    Small lived with Beck at the home, according to the sheriff’s office. The homicide is considered to be “domestic-related” and an isolated incident with no threat to the community.

    Small was not given bond and is scheduled to make his first appearance in court on Tuesday.
