AAC Media Days: Memphis picked to win league, ECU chosen seventh

ARLINGTON, Texas (WNCT) — WNCT’s Brian Bailey is in Arlington, Texas this week for the annual American Athletic Conference Media Days.

Bailey caught up with the coach of the team picked to win the league, Ryan Silverfield of Memphis and with ECU Coach Mike Houston.

East Carolina was picked to finish in the middle of the pack in the league at seventh. “Yeah, look it’s great that people have high expectations of us and that the media and the people on the outside think we’re going to do great things,” Silverfield said. “That speaks volumes to the great people came before us.”

ECU Coach Houston said he expects the Tigers to be tough as well. “Ryan’s (Silverfield) done a great job there, returning a lot of experience so, you know, if I was asked to do a poll, outside of East Carolina, that’s who I would probably peg at the top, as the top team.”
