GREENVILLE, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A man was arrested after a nearly six-hour-long standoff with law enforcement.

According to the Greenville Police Department, multiple tips were received regarding the location of 28-year-old Jesse York, who had an active warrant out for his arrest for Domestic Violence.

Trial date set in accidental shooting of one-year-old

Officers located the suspect at a residence on Cypress Street. Based on the tip calls, officers were advised that York was stating he would shoot anyone outside.

Due to these threats, the Darke County Special Response Team was called in for assistance. Residents in the surrounding area were notified of the situation and the street was blocked off.

Law enforcement made multiple attempts to contact York through social media and via patrol car intercom, asking him to come out of the house. During this time, a search warrant for the residence was obtained.

After several hours of attempting contact with no response, the Special Response Team deployed several rounds of gas into the residence. Police say York could be seen moving inside the home but would not respond to any attempts at contact.

Darke County SRT made entry into the home and arrested York just after 6 a.m. on July 13, nearly six hours after the standoff began.

York was transported to Darke County Jail where he was incarcerated with no bond on the initial Domestic Violence charge. He will face additional charges related to the standoff, including Inducing Panic and Obstructing Official Business.
