Superintendent Appoints Lauren Bird Assistant Principal at Cos Cob School
Greenwich Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Toni Jones today announced the appointment of Mrs. Lauren Bird as assistant principal at Cos Cob School, effective immediately. She will assist Principal Kerry Gavin supporting the entire Cos Cob community, aiding in the development and achievement of school goals and objectives, while advocating on behalf of all students.
Foundation Honors 2024 Ben Farnan Scholarship Recipients
This past Tuesday evening, the Tribute and Honor Foundation proudly presented the 2024 Ben Farnan Scholarships to Glen Cove High School graduates Mark LaRocca and Ruben Martinez. These outstanding individuals, who have committed to serving their country by joining the military, were each honored with a $1,000 scholarship from the Foundation in acknowledgment of their commitment and patriotism. The award ceremony, emphasizing the importance of community and service, was a touching event attended by many dignitaries and community leaders.

As it is, this is an announcement that one of the most iconic figures in Weston High School history has made the 2023-24 school year her last, ending a spectacular teaching, coaching and administrative career that has lasted 40 years. According to information provided by the Weston High School Alumni Association, Pender leaves with the distinction as being the longest serving faculty member in Weston High School history.

North Shore High School seniors and their family members, teachers and faculty gathered at the basketball court on June 26 to celebrate the graduation of the Class of 2024. The building was filled with laughter, tears and cheers as the graduating class took their final steps as Vikings to collect their diplomas, and taking their first steps in the next stage of their lives.
