Jamie Speaks, 55, was arrested by Greenwood police on July 11 on a second-degree sexual assault charge.

The Arkansas Crime Information Center’s Sex Offender Registry database shows Speaks is a level two sex offender.

A probable cause affidavit filed on July 8 said GPD received a report from the parents of a 16-year-old on May 26, 2022, about a sexual assault.

The victim reportedly disclosed to a counselor she was sexually abused by Speaks when she was around two years old at a daycare.

She told interviewers that Speaks would come into the daycare she attended while his wife worked in the kitchen.

Speaks would allegedly take her by the hand into the bathroom where he would sexually abuse her.

The girl said she had never told anyone about the abuse until she was in counseling at age 16.

Before he was arrested, Speaks was named in two civil lawsuits against Miss Tina’s Preschool in Greenwood that were filed in December 2023 and January 2024.

Speaks is being held in the Sebastian County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond. His trial date is set for December 12.

He has been ordered to have no contact with the victim or her family and is prohibited from going to the victim’s residence, school or place of employment. Speaks is also ordered to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18.
