    Indiana man arrested for allegedly planning abduction of teen in Appomattox Co.

    APPOMATTOX COUNTY, Va. ( WFXR ) — The Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office reports a 19-year-old from Indiana was arrested after allegedly planning to kidnap a minor on Monday, July 15.

    According to the sheriff, a deputy with the department encountered a suspicious vehicle at a local church parking lot at 1:25 a.m. The only person in the vehicle was identified as 19-year-old Corbin Michael Dwigans of Greenwood, IN.

    The Sheriff’s office states the deputy learned that Dwigans had allegedly driven from Indiana to meet with a 16-year-old female for a sexual encounter and he was arrested. During the arrest, Dwigans was allegedly found in possession of a concealed weapon.

    RPD charges four juveniles in connection to 16th Street shooting

    A search warrant was later issued for his cellular device, which allegedly showed he was planning to abduct the minor during the meeting.

    Corbin Michael Dwigans has been charged with the following:

    • Attempted Abduction
    • Contributing to Delinquency of a Minor
    • Two Counts of Possession of Child Pornography
    • Possession of a Concealed Weapon
    • Underage Possession of Alcohol
