Authorities responded to County Road 77 and Lake Vermilion Reservation Road in rural Greenwood Township west of Tower due to the reported RV that was on fire in the intersection.

Upon arrival, the front of the 30-foot RV was fully engulfed in flames.

In speaking with the driver/owner of the RV, the Sheriff’s Office learned that as the RV was turning onto Lake Vermilion Reservation Road, the engine overheated and then shut down. It was at this time, the driver saw flames coming from the engine bay. The driver/owner, a local resident from the Cook area was the only person in the RV. The RV is considered a total loss.
