Croghan Man Charged with Criminal Contempt
VILLAGE OF CROGHAN-A 29 year old Croghan man was arrested early Saturday morning following an alleged domestic dispute in the Village of Croghan that reportedly occurred on Friday. New York State Police from the Lowville Barracks charged Daniel P. Monnat with one count of Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree-Disobeying a Court Order, a Class A misdemeanor. Monnat’s arrest status was listed as “central arraignment” and the incident was pending investigation as of Saturday morning.

31-year-old Central NY motorcyclist dies after motorcycle crash in North Country
Rutland, N.Y. — A 31-year-old man, who crashed and hit a metal culvert, died Friday in Jefferson County, troopers said. Adam L. Lyon, of Bridgeport in Madison County, was riding his green 2024 Kawasaki ZX14R southwest on County Route 49 in Rutland around 1:05 p.m. when he crashed on a curve, according to news release from state police.

2 Local Fire Departments Awarded Funding for Equipment, Training and Supplies
UTICA, N.Y. -- A few upstate fire departments in New York will soon receive a total of $665,310.24 in federal funding. CHAUMONT, New York (WWNY) - State police charged a 68 year Chaumont man Friday for allegedly threatening Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies with a knife.
