Who wants to travel to France in the middle of the summer? It’s overrun with tourists, free water is nearly impossible to find, and even air conditioning isn’t the easiest to track down (though it’s still cooler than Phoenix at the moment). Why not instead enjoy a staycation in the Valley and instead treat yourself to some French-inspired pastries and other restaurant goodies? With a new French bakery and restaurant opening in Scottsdale in the coming months you will have the opportunity to enjoy all the coffee, crepes, and other goodies whenever you wish, all without the cost of a ticket.

Sweet Paris might be new to Arizona, but it’s not new to the United States. The restaurant first opened in 2012 in Texas as the owners wanted to bring a little slice of Paris to the heart of the Lone Star State. The restaurant took off, thanks to the freshly prepared crepes, paninis, coffee, and other menu items.

Sweet Paris initially focused on expanding further into Texas, where it now has nearly a dozen locations. From there it opened other restaurant locations in Miami, Minneapolis, and even Mexico. Now, the restaurant chain is coming to Arizona with a planned destination in Scottsdale.

Situated at 15147 North Scottsdale Road (Suite 133) in Scottsdale, the restaurant is currently in the works with a planned fall 2024 opening date.

From sweet to savory and breakfast to lunch, the menu is packed full of classic French cuisine goodness. If you are a lover of crepes, there are some fun and unique options, including the Apple Cinnamon Creme Brǔlé2 (torched vanilla cream with caramelized apples, dulce de leche, and cinnamon), Bonne Maman (cheery spread, strawberry, redcurrant and raspberry preserves, and swede cream), Lemon and Sugar, Nutella, and Oreo Cookies n’ Cream.

If you’re hungry for something a bit heavier but want to keep it confined to a sweet breakfast, Sweet Paris offers several waffles, such as Dulce de Leche, Nutella, and S’mores. As for the lunch menu, every day you will find rotating, seasonal soups, plus a cobb and Salade de Chèvre (spring lettuce mix, goat cheese, walnuts, almonds, cheery tomatoes, dried cranberries, parmesan crisps, and a dijon vinaigrette).

You can also opt for a panini, such as the Pesto Ham and Gruyere (smoked ham, gruyere cheese, spinach, tomatoes, dijon mustard, and basil) or the Caprese (fresh mozzarella, basil-infused cherry tomatoes, truffle oil, and basil pesto.
