Roosevelt Row might be the beating artistic heart of Phoenix, but it is also where many culinary endeavors begin (and end). While it might not have the high profile and high price tag of Scottsdale (specifically the resorts and Old Town), there aren’t many other places in the Valley where you’re going to find martini bars rubbing shoulders with hot dog joints or rustic, locally owned coffee shops slinging espresso next to steakhouses and designer cocktail bars. If you want to find something new, unique, trending, or tried and true, it can almost always be found in Roosevelt Row. And now, a new restaurant has added its name to the mix.
Wasting no time to connect with the local community, LeDu Thai has officially opened at 915 North 5th Street in Phoenix. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is both warm and trendy, with bold greens throughout and plenty of plants. The entire restaurant has a fresh feel. Not just as a new interior, but as in it feels clean and alive. All of the organic, earthy tones make you feel as if you could look outside and discover you were sitting inside a Chang Mai cafeteria.
The restaurant officially opened less than a week ago and it has quickly made a name for itself, registering over 2,000 new Instagram followers since its launch, with many customers commenting on how they popped in and thoroughly enjoyed their dishes.
Speaking of dishes, you will find all of your favorite Thai meals on the menu, plus the restaurant also boasts a number of unique cocktails that are sure to be a crowd-pleaser (and yes, if you’re a sucker for dry ice drinks, you will find that at LeDu Thai as well). The restaurant does specifically focus on Southern Thai food. Typically, Southern Thai food has a spicier flavor profile with bolder ingredients. On the flip side, Northern Thai food tends to go milder on the spices. Southern Thailand has a number of cultural influences via international trading that came from the Chinese, Burmese, Malaysia, and other regions. But don’t worry, if you can’t take the spicy heat you can order the mild variations of dishes.
If you feel like checking out the newest Thai restaurant in Phoenix, LeDu Thai is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30 AM until 10 PM, Friday and Saturday from 11:30 AM until 11 PM, and on Sunday from 11:30 AM until 9:30 PM. It is closed on Monday.
