Who doesn’t love free food? In this economy, a free fast-food sandwich means you’re likely saving a least ten bucks. But what about free food for a year? That could help you pocket some serious cash and put that toward other expenses. The launch of a new fast-food restaurant on Tuesday, August 20 will allow you to do just that. And even if you don’t qualify for the free food for a year, you might still land a complimentary meal. It is all taking place at the latest rendition of Raising Cane’s in metro Phoenix.

Raising Cane’s has expanded rather rapidly in the Valley, with over two dozen locations offering the Louisiana fried chicken sandwiches, and tenders, not to mention all the spicy dipping sauce you might want. The latest location officially opens today, August 20, at 9 AM. Located at 2161 North Power Road in Mesa, it is one of the most northeastern locations in the region. If you call this area home (or you work around east Mesa), it might be worth swinging by to see if you can nab some free food.

The restaurant will give away a Box Combo (as well as a free hat) to the first hundred customers who purchase a Box Combo. However, the big money saver will be the twenty people who receive free food for a year. To qualify, you need to stop by the restaurant early. Entries can be filled out and submitted between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM. Drawings for the free food will take place before opening, so you won’t have to wait around long (though you must remain on-site to win).

Do note, the “free food for a year” is a bit…loose with the definition. Winners will be given a free Box Combo three times per calendar month. So mostly it’s you’re receiving free lunch three times a month. The name of the drawing does over-sell the promise just a bit. Even so 36 free meals over the course of an entire year is still pretty good and should help you save a few bucks. The total value is pegged at $452.01.

Even if you don’t feel like stopping by early in the morning to try and win, the new restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday from 9 AM until 1 AM, and on Friday and Saturday from 9 AM until 2 AM (for both the drive-through and dining room)
