There’s nothing like a great slice of pizza. If you’re like many others around greater Phoenix, if a new pizza parlor opens up in your neighborhood, it’s well worth at least one visit. Few other restaurant types hold that kind of power. There’s something so simple and easy as pizza that there are toppings and crusts out there for every person and every dietary lifestyle. And if you live around Glendale there’s good news, because a new pizza restaurant has officially opened up.

If you’re tired of the chain pizza restaurants that seem to sweep over communities, Little Ray’s Pizzeria will be a breath of fresh air. Located at 20329 North 59th Avenue in Glendale, Little Ray’s prides itself as being an independent, family-owned restaurant that serves not only pizza but a heaping assortment of other stomach-filling meals. It’s the kind of place you can head to with the family, or order a large meal for delivery or takeout.

While the space might be small, the menu is large, and there is plenty for everyone. So whether you want a pizza or a plate full of pasta, there’s a meal (and drink) for everyone.

Most of the pizzas are done in a New York style, from dough handmade from scratch daily. You can pick and choose your own toppings, or order one of the menu pizzas, including the Monster (sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, and cheese), Veggie (mushroom, green pepper, black olives, onions, and cheese), and Garden White (spinach, fresh tomatoes, fresh garlic, ricotta, and cheese). Appetizers include mozzarella caprese, bruschetta, and coconut shrimp.

Not feeling like pizza? You can always go with spaghetti with marinara sauce and meatballs, fettuccine alfredo, chicken wings, buffalo chicken sandwiches, calzones, and plenty of other goodies.

Also, while Little Ray’s Pizzeria does not yet have its full menu listed online, there are adult beverages served. So if you’re a fan of Tito’s, it’s in stock. Happy hour is every day from 2 until 6 PM. Drink specials include two bucks off, plus appetizer specials.

If you are in Glendale or are just hungry for some pizza and want to check out the new, locally owned, family establishment, it is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM until 9 PM and on Friday and Saturday from 11 AM until 10 PM. You can order through the website, or feel free to stop by for pizza and a drink.
