The Ankeny baseball team dropped a 4-3 decision at second-ranked Dallas Center-Grimes in a non-conference game on Wednesday. The Hawks took a 3-1 lead in the second inning before Dallas Center-Grimes scored one run in the fifth and two more in the sixth to earn its fifth straight victory. The Mustangs improved to 32-2 on the season, while Ankeny’s record dropped to 17-22.

DES MOINES, IOWA – The Omaha Storm Chasers dropped a back-and-forth game to the Iowa Cubs 5-4 Thursday, Independence Day at Principal Park. As the series shifted over to Des Moines for another three-game set, the I-Cubs scored first for the fourth straight night. One Week Away from Football Camp in Perry
Perry will be holding a special football camp on Saturday, July 13th. Iowa St QB, Rocco Becht is hosting a free camp for those in the Perry district. The event is scheduled from 9A-12P and will include a free lunch. The camp is open to 5th-8th graders. The quarterback is funding the project with his NIL he has earned. McClish was on point in the circle for the 5A No. 5 Johnston softball team during a 10-0 victory over No. 5 Waukee as part of a doubleheader sweep by the Dragons on June 26 at Johnston.
