    Arrest made in fatal Griswold crash one year later

    Norwich, Conn./WTIC Radio - State police in Connecticut have arrested a Rhode Island resident in connection with a fatal crash one year ago.

    It was on June 26, 2023 that state troopers say Cody Moorehead, 30, from Hope Valley, Rhode Island, was involved in a crash on Voluntown Road in Griswold.

    The crash left Zenon Zawadzki, 73, dead.

    Moorehead was driving a Ford F550 at the time.

    Investigators say he crossed the double yellow line and struck Zawadzki, who was in a Mitsubishi.

    Moorehead had several drugs in his system, including fentanyl, according to a warrant.

    He faces a host of charges, including OUI, manslaughter with a motor vehicle, illegal possession of a weaopn in a motor vehicle, and reckless driving.

    Bond was set at $500,000.
