Hartford Falls 3-1 Against Pittsburgh
Back on the road, Hartford Athletic falls 3-1 for their second match-up against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC. The Green and Blue had a difficult start in the first half with three yellow cards along with three goals from Pittsburgh. With a penalty shot for the first one, it was a difficult moment for goaltender Monroe who dove the opposite way for a tricky strike. The momentum was down but that was until Mamadou Dieng had scored his second goal for the club in the 34th minute with an assist from Emmanuel Samadia with a striking header straight into the goal to put Hartford on the board 3-1.
West Hartford receives $697,000 to make sidewalks more accessible
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — The town of West Hartford announced in a release on Thursday that it will receive $697,000 from the state for sidewalk accessibility enhancements. The state’s Department of Transportation awarded the town the funding through the Community Connectivity Grant Program, which is an infrastructure improvement program that provides funding for local projects to improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians, bicyclists and transit users in communities across the state.

Alzheimer’s Drug Offers Hope for Early-Stage Patients
UConn Health is now offering the drug lecanemab to patients with mild signs of dementia. In clinical trials it was shown to slow the progression of Alzheimer’s. The memory assessment team at the UConn Center on Aging consists of multidisciplinary experts who monitor and guide patients through the treatment process. The drug may not be a cure for Alzheimer’s but for patients like Eric Jackson, it offers the chance to remain independent longer.
Davisville Solar Project Draws Ire of Local Residents
NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. — A proposal for a solar project off Route 403 in the village of Davisville is meeting some early opposition from local residents. Cranston-based Green Development LLC has proposed a 4-megawatt, ground-mounted solar installation on undeveloped land between Route 403 and some homes off Davisville Road. The project, known as NKGM Solar, would clear 36 acres of otherwise untouched land to make room for 10,000 solar panels, and extend Firwood Drive, a sleepy suburban street, into an access road for the solar array.
60-year-old dead after convertible flips during Preston crash
PRESTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut State Police say a man is dead after his convertible flipped over during a single-vehicle crash Sunday. Police said the crash happened around 9:30 a.m. on the 190 block of Middle Road. When emergency crews arrived, they found a 1965 Ford Mustang on its roof.
Waterford police seeks assistance to identify Target shoplifter
