An Ithaca woman has been arrested after she allegedly stabbed a male victim on Thursday afternoon. Ithaca Police arrested 24-year-old Jessica Leigh Anderson for assault in the second degree, a Class D felony, and burglary in the first degree, a Class B felony, as well as a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a weapon.

Syracuse, N.Y. — Two men were shot at Kirk Park Sunday, police said. Officers arrived at the park around 2:30 p.m. and were told that vehicles were leaving the scene, said Kieran Coffey, a police spokesperson. It was just after 1 in the afternoon on Monday, July 15th, when the New York State Police were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash with injuries on I81 North in LaFayette. State Police say an investigation determined the operator of the single-vehicle crash, 72 year old Thedorus A. Stolwijk of Binghamton, was driving a 2024 Chrysler and was in the driving lane on I81 North.
Cortland Fire Department receives federal funding
CORTLAND, NY (CortacaToday) – The City of Cortland and its firefighters will benefit from Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding. The Cortland Fire Department (CFD) has been awarded about $48,000 for new protective gear and training through DHS FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG). Binghamton, Elmira, and Whitney Point join Cortland as Southern Tier winners. Nearly $1.5 million is headed to 16 departments across the state, including the City of Auburn and Moravia in Cayuga County.
