Gadsden to conduct trial run with video messaging platform
The City of Gadsden is going to test drive another way of communicating directly with local residents. The City Council on June 25 approved a three-month trial run, at a cost of $500 per month, with Rep'd, which describes itself as “a video messaging and engagement platform for municipalities.”

On Monday, an immunity hearing for Sullivan’s Stand Your Ground case continued. Sullivan is charged with murder after shooting and killing his neighbor, Gregory Bagwell in May 2023.

Gaston’s Bogle, Southside’s Webb highlight All-Messenger track and field teams
Kodie Bogle and Kathryn Webb were point-earning machines for their respective teams this past track and field season. Bogle, a junior at Gaston, and Webb, a senior at Southside, each competed in four events, with both student-athlete winning the first-place gold every one of those events. Between them, Bogle and Webb took home 30 medals, including 21 gold.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of a shooting that recently took place; the sheriff’s office says the victim is 38-year-old Kristy Gladden Hancock – who was found Tuesday, dead – with a gunshot wound after the officers had responded to a call, off of County Road 221, in Collinsville.
