Owens Cross Roads man pleaded guilty to violating Iran sanctions
MADISON CO., Ala. (WAFF) - An Owens Cross Roads man pleaded guilty to conspiracy to export U.S.-origin goods to the Islamic Republic of Iran in violation of trade sanctions. Court documents read that in May 2014, 70-year-old Ray Hunt, also known as Abdolrahman Hantoosh, Rahman Hantoosh and Rahman Natooshas registered a business with the Alabama Secretary of State.

Julian Clyde “Jay” Davis, age 85 of Fort Payne, passed away July 19, 2024. He was born on January 24, 1939 in Jackson County to the late Carl & Irene Whitley Davis. He graduated from Jacksonville State University with a B.S. and later received his Master’s from Auburn University. He spent his career coaching football and baseball at Elmore County High School, Auburn High School, Saks High School, and Sewanee (TN) High School. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Payne.
