Beaumont officers, Jefferson County deputies make 24 arrests during crime suppression op
BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Police and Jefferson County deputies ran a crime suppression operation last week that resulted in 24 arrests and the recovery of two guns. The "violent crime suppression operation," which ran from Wednesday, June 24, 2024, through Saturday, June 28, 2024, was a collaborative effort of the police department and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, according to a news release from the Beaumont Police Department.

Jefferson County man sentenced for COVID-relief fraud
A Jefferson County man has been sentenced for his criminal involvement with a COVID-relief fraud scheme. Acheon King Aleidron of Beaumont, 35, formerly known as Cameron Alexander, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Port Arthur man sentenced to 60 months for firearms violation
BEAUMONT, Texas — A Port Arthur man has been sentenced to 60 months in federal prison for a firearms violation, announced U.S. Attorney Damien M. Diggs. Johnathon Andre Granger, 24, pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone on July 2, 2024. According to information presented in court, local law enforcement executed a search warrant at Granger’s Port Arthur residence on August 4, 2023. During the search, Granger was found asleep in a bedroom with a firearm nearby. In total, three firearms, 19 grams of cocaine, and nearly $3,000 in cash were discovered in the home.

Another year has gone by, making 22 years since the kidnapper and killer of four-year-old Dannarriah Finley still hasn't been arrested. The sleeping child was kidnapped sometime in the early morning of July 4, 2002, from the small house in the 1000 block Fourth Street where she lived with her mother and siblings.
