Fetus found dead in trash can at Walmart parking lot in Grovetown

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – Columbia County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an incident involving a fetus found in a trash can in the Walmart parking lot located on 5010 Steiner Way in Grovetown.

On the incident, Major Steve Morris said: “A fetus was recovered from a dumpster at 5010 Steiner Way Grovetown. No other details for now.”

According to Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, they were contacted by Wellstar MCG Health about the fetus in the dumpster. Officials know who the mother is and will conduct interviews. An autopsy will also be performed on the fetus.

CCSO is investigating.
