Montgomery County Rent Stabilization Law Now in Effect
The Montgomery County Council unanimously passed new rent stabilization regulations this week, immediately setting limits on rent increases. Montgomery County’s Bill 15-23, Rent Stabilization (PDF), was passed in 2023 and caps rent increases for eligible buildings at six percent or the inflation rate plus three percent, whichever is lower. Executive Regulation 2-24, Landlord-Tenant Relations—Rent Stabilization, was established under an executive order by County Executive Marc Elrich (PDF) and provides specific guidance on the requirements of the rent stabilization law to help landlords and tenants understand their legal obligations in Montgomery County, according to a county press release.

Over the years, she’s donated millions to hospitals, colleges, churches, and many more organizations. Ann was also instrumental in the opening of Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute, part of Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health in 2013. Dr. Randall A. Oyer a founding executive medical director of the Ann B. In the summer heat, cars traveling on the county’s dirt roads cast plumes of dust in their wake. Winter’s chill can cause a hazardous film of ice to spawn on paved roads. To protect motorists from both slippery ice and vision-impairing dust, communities across Pennsylvania coat these roads with large, cheap volumes of de-icing and dust-suppressing fluids. In Lawson’s case, her township had been using oil and gas wastewater as a dust suppressant, believing the material was effective.
