Mooer has announced the latest addition to its GE Series of multi-effects pedals , the GE200 Pro, cramming a range of digital amps , effects, and features into an affordable all-in-one unit for gigging and recording.

Essentially an updated version of its budget GE200 floor modeler, the firm has injected its latest sound design language and features into its digital core, ensuring its specs stand up against the growing competition without inflating its price point.

It offers 286 amp and effects modules for users to experiment with, resulting in a huge depth of signal chain combinations.

There are also 20 storage slots for first- and third-party IRs, widening the scope of its sonic versatility.

Mooer has tailored its 3.5” LCD screen and user interface around ease of operation, keeping key features in reach at all times via the Select knob, which helps users navigate its “intuitive” interface.

An onboard expression pedal is a neat addition, giving greater control of a number of unbuilt effects, but a 1/4" stereo TRS jack does allow for external expression pedals to be used if needed.

As is becoming the trend, the trio of a drum machine, metronome options, and a 60-second looper have proved key additions – a look at the forthcoming Positive Grid Spark 2 will tell you as much.

There’s also an in-built tuner and a tap tempo control for fine-tuning effects on the fly. Finally, an adjustable global EQ is on hand as Mooer aims to eliminate the need for any external pedals and devices.

In terms of connectivity, it comprises a standard blend of 1/4" input and output jacks and a 3.5mm headphone output.

These are augmented with parallel or serial FX loop send and returns, as well as stereo XLR outputs, meaning it should be able to easily handle the rough and tumble of touring.

MIDI inputs and outputs are also provided for players who want the benefits of a modeler without having to tap dance across its footswitches throughout sets.

Beyond gigging, digital connectivity is a major focus. A USB-C port allows for easy and low-latency outputting to ASIO USB audio interfaces , such as Blackstar’s recently released Polar 2 .

Its USB connectivity also grants access to Mooer’s desktop studio software and its Cloud app, which features a host of downloadable presets, while Bluetooth capabilities enable audio playback for jamming along to songs and backing tracks.

There will be two different versions of the GE200 Pro available; a standard model powered by a “traditional adaptor,” and the GE200 Pro Li, which runs on an integrated Lithium-Ion battery.

The latter even adds a little extra sizzle to its aesthetic by coming with an ambient LED strip light with customizable colors and display styles.

There is no price currently listed, but the fact its predecessor is available for around $200 – and the GE250 for $383 – gives a rough indication.
