Four of Paul Gilbert’s guitars have been stolen in Frankfurt, Germany, with the esteemed guiatist asking fans to keep a look out for them.

The four guitars taken include a purple Ibanez FRM300 – a Paul Gilbert signature, complete with a makeshift slide-holder on the lower horn.

Released in 2021, it features specially-wound DiMarzio PG-13 mini-humbuckers, controllable by a five-way pickup selector switch, plus volume and tone knobs. The guitarist also unveiled signature 0.50mm-gauge picks around the same time.

Two Ibanez PGM models, yellow with black faux f-holes, and black with gold furnishings, and a Godin Multiac Steel Duet Ambiance electric-acoustic guitar, are the other three to have been stolen.

Gilbert, taking to Instagram to alert his followers of the theft, says he will post their serial numbers soon to help identify the already very-identifiable instruments.

“STOLEN GUITAR ALERT! These 4 guitars were stolen in Frankfurt, Germany today,” his post reads. “Please keep an eye out for them, and DM me, or write to paulvsgodzilla@paulgilbert.com if you have any information,” he says.

As the old adage goes, the show must go on, and Gilbert has extended his thanks to Ibanez for getting the guitarist new instruments to play for the remainder of his tour.

The theft certainly reinforces the importance of guitar players photographing the serial numbers on all their guitars, making it far easier to be reunited with them if they are ever stolen.

In other Gilbert news, the guitarist recently created custom presets for the newly-unveiled Positive Grid Spark 2 modeling amp , and was also recently bestowed with a new signature Fireman . Notably, the update of his reverse Iceman build includes a world first – a magnet on the lower horn for effortless slide storage.

The invention allows for on-the-fly switching between out-and-out shredding and slide playing, a playing style he told Guitar Player helped him reach a new melodic range.

Reiterating Gilbert’s plea, if readers discover any information regarding the stolen guitars, contact paulvsgodzilla@paulgilbert.com or message the guitarist on Instagram, @paulgilbert_official.
