‘Weird b––––’: 15-year-old girl allegedly tried to stab her sleeping mother to death because she believed she was ‘suppressing the black in her’

A teenage Mississippi girl is being held in an adult lockup facility for the alleged attempted murder of her own mother — a violent attack that appears to be influenced by some collection of occult beliefs.

Lexi Jade Brown, 15, stands accused of one count each of attempted murder and arson in the first degree, according to a press release issued Monday by the Gulfport Police Department.

The incident occurred during the early morning hours on June 14, according to the police department. That’s when officers say they received a call about a cutting incident at a house on Dee Avenue in a heavily rural part of Gulfport adjacent to a large wooded area.

At the house on the final block of Dee Avenue, officers arrived at 2:33 a.m. and found the alleged victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Investigators say the girl’s mother told them she was asleep when the violence began — that she woke up to find her daughter allegedly attacking her with a knife. After fending the young girl off, the mother allegedly said her daughter then tried to start a fire inside the residence.

The girl’s mother was transported to a nearby hospital to recuperate. The extent of her injuries is not currently public knowledge.

Police say the defendant was forthcoming about the brutal crime.

When questioned by detectives, Brown allegedly freely admitted that she had been planning to kill her mother for quite some time because she thought the older woman was a “weird b––––.”

Additionally, the 15-year-old allegedly said her mother had been “suppressing the black in her,” according to law enforcement.

The investigation is ongoing.

Brown was arrested and booked in the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, according to police. Her bond was set at $1.25 million bond by District 5 Justice Court Judge Nick Patano.

As of this writing, however, there is no public record of an inmate using any iteration of Brown’s name in the county jail.

Law&Crime reached out to the Gulfport Police Department and Harrison County court system for additional details about this story but no response was immediately forthcoming at the time of publication.
