Council OKs free beach passes for Skokie students in Districts 65 and 202
District 65 and 202 students and their families who live in the 60203 Skokie ZIP code will be able to enjoy free access to Evanston beaches in 2025 under a proposal that received backing at the Evanston City Council meeting Monday. Council members voted 9-0 in favor of a change in policy.

A Native American blessing ceremony was performed to welcome them to their new land.Before dying, representatives from Midwest SOARRING Foundation, a local non-profit, performed a ceremonial blessing of Judy.Representatives reflected on the importance of the bison in North America.

White Sox Part Ways with Former Top Prospect
Before Monday’s series finale against the Detroit Tigers, the Chicago White Sox announced that third baseman Nick Senzel has been designated for assignment. Senzel, 29, is the corresponding move after the White Sox claimed infielder Jacon Amaya off waivers from the Houston Astros on the weekend. The White Sox recalled left-hander Sammy Peralta and optioned fellow left-hander Ky Bush. Senzel was designated for assignment by the Washington Nationals on July 6 and released five days later. Indiana couple awarded $25M over neglected test results
CHICAGO (CBS) – A jury awarded a Valparaiso, Indiana couple more than $25 million dollars over neglected medical test results.George "Tim" Yaros had blood work done in 2017. The tests showed he had cancer, but Saint Mary Medical Center in Valparaiso never sent the results to the specialist who ordered the blood work.His attorney said the cancer wasn't discovered until 13 months later when he went into renal failure. Now, he needs dialysis and a lifetime of treatment, according to his lawyer.His family said they wanted to prevent this from happening to another patient.
