Guttenberg man, 18, gave cops fake name when caught with loaded handgun
An 18-year-old Guttenberg man gave police officers a bad name when he was caught with a loaded handgun yesterday morning, authorities said. Miguel A. Palma, 18, of Guttenberg, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, the possession of a firearm by a minor (under 21 years of age), possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of prescription legend drugs, police said.

A house in Guttenberg that sold for just under $1 million tops the list of the most expensive residential real estate sales in West New York in the past week. In total, seven residential real estate sales were recorded in the area during the past week, with an average price of $597,128. The average price per square foot was $452.

An updated air quality alert was issued in effect until Sunday at 11:15 p.m. for Passaic, Hudson, Bergen, Essex and Union counties. "The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued an Air Quality Action Day for the following counties: Bergen, Passaic, Hudson, Essex, Union. From 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday. An Air Quality Action Day means that Ground Level Ozone within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards," says the National Weather Service.

Two children were shot inside a McDonald's in the Bronx, police say.It happened Saturday just before 10 p.m. on 2516 White Plains Rd. in Allerton.A 12-year-old was shot in the left thigh and back and a 13-year-old was shot in the left leg. Amtrak service restored between NYC and Boston after power outage
NEW YORK — Amtrak service has been restored between New York and Boston after it was suspended for much of Saturday due to a power outage, the rail service announced. In a statement Saturday afternoon, Amtrak said the service disruption was due to a malfunctioning circuit breaker that was causing a power outage on all tracks between Penn Station in New York and Union Station in New Haven, Connecticut.
