Two Men Evade Montclair Police After Intercepted Car Break-In
MONTCLAIR, NJ - Two men escaped from police last week after being caught breaking into a Montclair resident’s car and stealing a garage door opener, Montclair Police Officials announced on Tuesday. According to the Montclair Police Department, the incident occurred around 4:15 a.m. on June 27. Officers were dispatched to a Warren Place residence following a report of a burglary in progress.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER The resident reported receiving an alert from his security system and subsequently observed two males dressed in all dark clothing with their faces covered by masks or hooded sweatshirts, and wearing gloves, walking on the property. The suspects were seen entering the resident’s Audi S8 and stealing a garage door opener. Police stated, "Responding officers arrived and located a white BMW X4 idling in the middle of the street. The vehicle was determined to be stolen from Montgomery Township. The vehicle fled west on Warren Place." Falling tree sparks fire at Tenafly home
A fire, apparently caused by a downed tree, led to the evacuation of a home in Tenafly on Saturday, July 6. No one was hurt. "It was caused by a large branch of the tree," said Lt.
