Rutgers is the next team in our examination of Big-10 women’s teams. Rutgers follows the tradition of most B1G teams, where they don’t necessarily participate in the same sports that Oregon does. Staten Island bowler Arthur Favors said his doctor’s face turned white as a ghost when he walked into the room and said he needed to admit him to the hospital as soon as possible. FDNY responds to overnight commercial building fire in Travis
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Twelve FDNY units and 60 fire and EMS personnel responded to a box truck fire inside a commercial building in Travis Saturday night. The blaze was reported at 515 Wild Ave., between West Service Road and Victory Boulevard, around 10:58 p.m., according to an FDNY spokesperson.

Guttenberg man, 18, gave cops fake name when caught with loaded handgun
An 18-year-old Guttenberg man gave police officers a bad name when he was caught with a loaded handgun yesterday morning, authorities said. Miguel A. Palma, 18, of Guttenberg, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, the possession of a firearm by a minor (under 21 years of age), possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of prescription legend drugs, police said.

An updated air quality alert was issued in effect until 11 p.m. for Passaic, Hudson, Bergen, Essex and Union counties. "The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued an Air Quality Action Day for the following counties: Bergen, Passaic, Hudson, Essex, and Union until 11 p.m. this evening. An Air Quality Action Day means that Ground Level Ozone within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards," says the National Weather Service.
