Man convicted of killing Temple University student Samuel Collington sentenced to decades in prison
The man convicted of killing a Temple University student during a robbery back in 2021 will spend decades behind bars.Latif Williams, 19, was convicted of third-degree murder back in February in the death of 21-year-old Samuel Collington of Prospect Park, Pa.He was sentenced on Tuesday to 25 - 50 years in prison.Police say Collington was shot and killed while returning to the North Philadelphia campus after spending Thanksgiving break with his family.He was set to graduate the following spring.Authorities said he was unloading his SUV near the 2200 block of N. Park Avenue when Williams snuck up on him and a struggle ensued.Collington was shot in the chest and back. He was taken to Temple University Hospital where he died of his injuries.

TRENTON, NJ (MERCER)–According to radio reports, shots rang out around 1:45 a.m. on July 2, 2024 in the area of 240 Euclid Avenue. Trenton Police, and EMS responded to the scene. Amazon worker fires gunshots in South Philly during altercation with school bus aide
Philadelphia police are investigating after an Amazon delivery worker fired gunshots during an altercation with a school bus aide.It happened shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday on the corner of 17th and Christian streets in South Philadelphia.This all started when police say a school bus driver was unable to make a turn due to a parked Amazon van.Chopper 6 over shots fired incident in South Philadelphia on July 17, 2024.Officials tell Action News the aide on the bus got out and asked the worker to move. That's when an altercation ensued and at some point, shots were fired by the Amazon worker.No injuries were reported.Police say the school bus was full of children transporting campers. The students were able to take shelter inside the nearby Edwin M. Stanton School.The Amazon worker is now in custody and will be facing charges.Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call police at 215-686-TIPS.
