Police clear trespassers from Green River in Colrain
COLRAIN, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Several vehicles were towed and 11 citations for trespassing were issued as a result of activity along the Green River in Colrain. Police were called to the scene on South Green River Road shortly before 3:00 p.m. on Thursday for multiple complaints of people parked illegally and trespassing through private property to access the river.

Lee — Following General Electric Company’s (GE) alleged failure to timely respond to actions filed by Lee Town Counsel Cristobal Bonifaz, the court had considered action that would possibly give the municipality a leg up in its federal case focused on the conglomerate and Monsanto entities. After procedural jockeying, however, the company agreed to respond to Lee’s allegations amid Bonifaz’s filing.

Two Berkshire Beaches Closed, One for Bacterial Exceedance
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Two Berkshire beaches are closed for swimming ahead of the Fourth of July weekend. Lulu Pond in the Pittsfield State Forest had a bacterial exceedance and Lake Mansfield in Great Barrington is closed for "other" reasons. While the waterbodies are closed for swimming, other recreational activities are allowed.
Two from Pittsfield arrested with narcotics during traffic stop in Taghkanic
WARREN COUNTY, N.Y. (WRGB) — Two individuals from Pittsfield were arrested for possession of a large quantity of narcotics in Taghkanic on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. On July 2, at approximately 7:20 p.m., a 2017 Ford Escape was stopped on the Taconic State Parkway for violations of the vehicle and traffic law, according to the New York State Police.
