As of Monday, July 1, as part of the city of Hagerstown's trash collection agreement with the vendor, Waste Management Inc., it will be necessary for all city refuse customers to use the new green carts/totes previously delivered to properties for collection.

As stipulated by Waste Management, as they make the move to automated collection, all trash must be bagged and placed inside the cart/tote with the lid closed.

Trash set out outside of the cart/tote will not be collected. No loose bags will be collected; nor will trash placed in any other container. There will be no exceptions.

Set trash, recycling and yard waste at curbside after 4 p.m. on the regular set-out day.
