    Haledon Robbery Suspect Arrested Within Two Hours of Incident

    HALEDON, NJ - A 24-year-old Paterson man was arrested for a "strong-armed robbery" on Haledon Avenue, police said.

    On July 29, 2024, prior to 6 p.m., a 77-year-old woman described being approached by a male who pushed her to the ground and stole her purse.

    Her purse contained $400 in cash and personal items.

    After the robbery, the suspect fled the scene in a black Ford Mustang parked nearby, according to the victim's description.

    Based on her description, corroborated by a witness, detectives were able to identify the suspect's vehicle.

    At approximately 8 p.m., Haledon Police detectives spotted the suspect vehicle traveling through Presidential Boulevard and Temple Street in Paterson and "conducted a high-risk motor vehicle stop."

    The suspect, Bornnazee Mceachern, was taken into custody without incident. The vehicle was towed to Haledon Police headquarters, pending a search warrant application.

    Mceachern was charged with 2nd Degree Robbery and remanded to Bergen County Jail.
