Police identify victim of deadly crash involving moped on Interstate 81 South
MANCHESTER, Pa. — A 70-year-old York County man died of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 South Sunday night, State Police said. Richard Thornton Fletcher, of Manchester, was operating a 2015 Yamaha YW50F moped near Mile Marker 59.4 in Hampden Township at about 11:39 p.m. when he attempted to merge from the right lane to the left lane and was struck from behind by a 2023 Freightliner M2 medium-duty truck. The impact caused Fletcher to fall off his vehicle, according to State Police.

(York, PA) -- Crews are working to tear down a warehouse in York that went up in flames on Friday. The warehouse at Albemarle and Elm Streets caught fire in the evening, sending thick black smoke into the air. Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control, but in an update yesterday the York Professional Fire Fighters Association said the building is still being monitored around the clock for hot spots.
