More than 150 Columbia manufacturing jobs will be leaving by the end of October. 939 the Eagle’s Mike Murphy, the publisher of Comobuz, reports the Japanese manufacturer Otscon has notified the Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) that it will be closing its plant on Route Z east of Columbia and permanently eliminating the positions of 160 employees who work there.

Flooding reported around Columbia, including near airport
Flooding was seen in parks and roads around Columbia Thursday morning during heavy rainfall. Route H and Airport Drive near Columbia Regional Airport had about two to three inches of flood water at around 6:30 a.m., airport police said. They are asking that people avoid the area if possible, and KOMU 8 has asked the airport for updates on possible delays or flight cancellations.
