HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Girl Scouts are receiving career mentoring and learning leadership skills through Quinnipiac University’s Camp CEO.

“They are coming, they are learning and they are exploring,” said Elicia Pegues-Spearman, the CEO of the Girl Scouts of Connecticut. “And we build girls of courage, confidence and character. So, to get there, we have them try new things. We have to be unafraid. They are learning how to do elevator pitches. There’s adults who don’t know how to do good elevator pitches.”

The camp brought in some of the most accomplished female CEOs in the state.

“This has been such an interesting and amazing experience, and I’ve gotten a feel for what classes are like in college,” Girl Scout Miranda King said.
