CULLMAN, Ala. — The 2024 Cullman County Youth Football season is here, and eight teams hit the field for four matchups on Saturday. The Hanceville Bulldogs hosted the Good Hope Raiders, the Vinemont Eagles took on the West Point Warriors on the road, the Holly Pond Broncos hosted the Fairview Aggies and the Cold Springs Eagles traveled to Cullman to take on the Bearcats. Injury Updates Following Game One
The Tide wrapped up their first week of the Kalen DeBoer era with a commanding 63-0 victory over Western Kentucky. However, with success can come unexpected injuries. During DeBoer’s press conference on Aug. 26, he confirmed that running back Jam Miller and right guard Jaeden Robert’s would be active for practice and the season opener, while linebacker Jeremiah Alexander was not expected to return.
Flag pole installed at 17 Springs facility in Millbrook

Autauga Academy’s late score drops Thorsby at home
Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... Thorsby High School was shocked late by Autauga Academy to fall 24-21 in the Rebels’ home opener for the 2024 season. Thorsby held a slim 14-12 lead at halftime and was able to extend it quickly in the third quarter on Grayson McManus’ four-yard touchdown run to make it 21-12 following the extra point. The score stood there into the final frame, and all momentum looked to be on the Rebels’ side.

Football Game Recap: Cullman Takes a Loss
On Thursday, the Cullman Bearcats took a blow against the Bob Jones Patriots, falling 48-12. Johnny Jackson was a one-man wrecking crew for Bob Jones as he threw for 395 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown on only five carries. Rhys Dorsey was Jackson's top target, picking up 196 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
