    Hamlet man charged with shooting into home, assault following dispute

    HAMLET, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A man is being held without bond after shooting into an occupied home, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

    On Thursday, July 18, officials say 73-year-old O’Neil Patrick, Sr., was involved in an argument and fight on Laurel Hill St. in Hamlet. Shortly after, he fired several shots into a home with at least one person inside.

    Patrick, Sr., has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharging a weapon into occupied property and assault on a female. He is being held without bond at the Richmond County Jail.
