    Tangipahoa Parish men accused of fast food restaurant burglary spree

    TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. ( WGNO ) — Two men accused of burglarizing fast food restaurants across Louisiana and Mississippi have been arrested.

    Deputies with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office report that on April 28, workers at a Hammond fast food restaurant on University Avenue arrived to work to find the drive-through window damaged and the business safe open and empty.

    Detectives said the incident was similar to others that happened across Hammond, Amite and Franklinton on the same night. Additionally, the crimes expanded to Ponchatoula, the Northshore, Livingston Parish, St. Tammany Parish and Jefferson Parish as well as Colombia and McComb, Mississippi.

    Through the collaboration of 12 law enforcement agencies, 36-year-old Sanchez Harold and 34-year-old Charles Ray Phillips Jr. were identified as suspects in the crime spree.

    Man killed in early morning 7th Ward shooting

    On July 3, Harold was arrested and booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on charges of simple burglary and parole violation. Phillips, who was transferred from another facility, was booked on July 16 for charges of simple burglary and criminal damage to property.

    Deputies said additional charges are pending in multiple jurisdictions.
