Ress comes to the program following seven seasons on the staff at Roanoke College, including the last two as the head coach of both the Men’s and Women’s programs.
Coastal BUDS to host iCan Bike Camp
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Coastal Bringing Up Down Syndrome is set to host its iCan Bike Camp from July 22 to 26 at the First Baptist Church Activity Center in Wilmington. “iCan Bike Camp is a week-long program for individuals ages 8 and up with disabilities. Each rider learns to ride a two-wheel bicycle with the help of iCan Shine-trained instructors and volunteers. Coastal BUDS is seeking volunteers to support riders. Thirty individuals with disabilities and more than 60 volunteers are expected to participate in the camp,” a Coastal BUDS announcement states.
Women’s Golf Signs Chang for 2024-25
WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW women’s golf Head Coach Cindy Ho has signed North Texas transfer Valencia Chang to the program for the 2024-25 academic year. Chang, a native of Singapore, is a Singapore Golf Association Junior National Team member and grew up playing multiple sports before focusing on golf. The 5-2 freshman will have four years of eligibility remaining. “We’re excited to welcome Valencia to our Seahawk family this fall,” said Ho. “She’s a high achiever, excellent student, and experienced golfer who will add to our depth.” Chang graduated from the Harrow International School of Bangkok in Thailand. Sherrod Henderson is a Hokie!
Yesterday afternoon, the Hokies added yet another piece to the 2025 class in Rocky Point (N.C.) defensive end Sherrod Henderson. The 6-4, 210-pounder is a three-star ranked the No. 34 weakside defensive end nationally and the No. 13 rising senior in the Tar Heel State. He became the Hokies' 13th commitment, and just the fourth out-of-state player to join the fold. As a 5.7 "high three-star," he is in the top half of VT's class from a rankings perspective.
