Once the fire was extinguished, police said, it was determined the operator was the only person in the vehicle and was deceased. After reviewing the scene, police said it did not appear anyone else was involved in the crash.

Police are withholding the driver's name while they work to confirm their identity and notify next of kin.

Speed appears to be a factor in this crash, police said, but all aspects are still under investigation.

Exeter Road in Hampton Falls between Brown Road and Parsonage Road was closed for approximately 4½ hours.State police were assisted by Hampton Falls Fire/EMS, the New Hampshire fire marshal’s office, and the state Department of Transportation.
